Frank S Hecker
A former U.S. Navy aviator whose years of service defined a life of precision, discipline, and purpose. After graduating first in his class at Naval Aviation Officer Candidate School, he earned his Wings of Gold in 1973 and joined Squadron VF-24 aboard the USS Hancock during the Vietnam era. His advanced training at NAS Miramar placed him under the instruction of America’s first Navy ace of the Vietnam War, Randy “Duke” Cunningham, whose mentorship helped shape his pursuit of mastery in the sky. Frank’s experiences—from flight school to Top Gun—form the foundation of his memoir, Best of the Best, a reflection on excellence, brotherhood, and the lasting lessons of service. Today, he continues to inspire readers with his authentic voice and unwavering integrity.
